Approximately, what would the cost be for treatment?

Hey! funny thing, I JUST got back from the dermatologist and got the procedure done. My doctor did a test area on my leg and didn’t charge me extra (I only paid a $25 co-pay fee) and it only took about 10 minutes to do a small area. I had about 4 veins he injected saline solution into them and let me tell you… IT HURT LIKE HELL! lol I mean, I’m usually not a baby when it comes to pain but this was the worst I’ve had ever from doctor office procedures. Maybe it was just the area he did it on that was just sensitive, but it hurt. It stings at first then the muscle below the area will start cramping up, or feel like muscle aches. But he takes a tiny needle and pricks the vein in about 5 different areas to make sure it goes through the whole thing. He told me it probably won’t get rid of all of it so I will have to come back and get the missed spots done. He was nice enough to not charge me for my test area but he said if I like the results I should come back and get the rest done – it will cost me $250 per 15 minutes (insurance won’t cover it). The best time to do this is NOW before the weather gets warmer because you will want to wear pants for 4-6 weeks. The area he injects will turn reddish purple or look bruised for several weeks before you see results. My leg is wrapped up with an ACE bandage right now (pressure feels reaaaallly good on the area!!!!) and the bandage helps keep the saline solution in. It kind of hurts to walk on it but not really, it just feels like a crampy leg. Should go away soon!:) I may be over exaggerating on this pain thing and maybe other people had better experiences, but prepare for some stinging and aching!:-) I don’t want to scare you though, because I;m sure this will be worth it. I am only 20 years old and I’ve had these since I was 13. It’s hereditary
Anyways…see if you can convince the doctor to let him do a test area for a discount or at no cost – you might get lucky!!! Best of luck to you and I hope it works!!!!
You can go see a dermatologist who will help you. One type of treatment is having a solution injected into the vein to make it disappear, another is having it removed all together. Depends on where you live on cost, ranges from $300 + for certain areas or amounts. There are also specialty places that only do vein removal, try searching Google to see who is in your area. Good luck!
You can have operations on varicose veins, my mum had them. Avoid just standing up for too long and if you really want to get rid of them consult a doctor. My mum found that brisk walking helped, and putting her feet up on a stool or something horizontal to the chair whilst sitting down.
1) Don’t stand up for too long
2) Brisk walking
3) Feet up
4) Consult Doctor
5) Research- books, internet, library.
Thanks, hope it’s useful!
pretty pricey, My aunt got her removed. costed her about 5k. She went to a place that removes them. She stopped wearing heels, (doc told her to)
