Hi, Im 15 and not overweight but yesterday i noticed these small purple lines on my upper thigh and then today i saw them on my calves. I think their spider veins, my mum has huge ones, i no im more prone to them coz im pale and my mum has them but i would really like them to go and i don’t want surgery. Please couls you tell me if there are any natural or homemade options. Thank you sooo much. The natural treatments for spider veins are the same as the ones used for varicose veins, swollen legs, tired legs, heavy legs
There are several factors that favor the appearance of venous insufficiency:
•a settled way of life, – being overweight,
•a job that requires you to remain on your feet all days (hairdresser, salesperson..)
•number of pregnancies
•and, it can be hereditary
Respecting some basic hygiene and dietetic rules is sometimes enough to reduce spider veins. You will have to avoid:
•the heat (sunbathing, sauna, wax, hot bath…) for the heat dilates the vessels,
•wearing tight clothes,
•sitting or standing too long,
•being overweight
To help the venous circulation you can:
•exercise (walk, swim, ride a bike)
•sleep with your feet up on a pillow,
•take cold showers,
•wear support stockings,
•eat less fat and less simple sugars,
•eat wheatgerm, green vegetables and citrus fruits, that are full of vitamins. Eat foods that are rich vitamin E and C (antioxidants) can help fight against free radicals which are ageing factors of the venous walls.
Here are some alternative products that can help:
– herbal tea: cypress, gingko biloba, witch hazel, horse chestnut
– Vein bioresonance card which is based on the principle of the alternative medicine of bio-energy.
Spider veins are genetic, so not much can be done about it. The best way at least to maintain it, is to take Vitamin E 400 IU daily. They became less pronounced and do not develop as much.
The herb horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) is one of the most widely used natural treatments for varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency, a related condition.
The active constituent in horse chestnut is a compound called aescin. Aescin appears to block the release of enzymes that damage capillary walls.
In 2006, researchers with the respected Cochrane Collaboration reviewed studies involving the use of oral horse chestnut extract or placebo for people with chronic venous insufficiency.
The researchers found an improvement in the signs and symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency with horse chestnut extract compared with placebo. Horse chestnut extract resulted in a significant reduction in leg pain and swelling compared with a placebo.
