I’m 17 and have really bad spider veins on my thighs and really hate them. How can I treat them? I have heard about sclerotherapy to help get rid of them, has anyone had sclerotherapy? what is it like? whats the process like?? does it work?? thanks

It does work and the process is such that each vein is injected with a solution that destroys the veins. Generally you are looking at one session costing $250 and lasting 30-45 minutes. The number of sessions is dependent on the number of veins. You also may be a candidate for laser vein treatments which costs a bit more but can treat a larger area in each sitting.
i havent had it but I’d like to. Im 19 and have have bad spider veins on my thighs and calves. I’ve heard that its good though and that it does work. Apparently the procedure doesnt take that long and doesnt cost as much as some other treatments.
I work for board certified surgeon that specializes in veins….are they bulgy or kind of purple /red like angel hair? If large and bulgy /stasis around ankles highly recommend get ultra sound done…? do you get them …..well pregnancy ,gravity, and genetics. A lot people are going to dermatologist /laser(this does hurt too) etc just are going after spider veins think of them like puddles if no attempt is made to the lake which would be the underline veins you see around you spiders (these are called reticular vein or feeder veins) then the money u spend is wasted due to they will fill back up in a few months -year…the cause of spider veins is back flow this is not your deep veins the pooling is from your saphenous(surface veins between the muscle and top layer your skin) we inject with sodium morrhuate that causes an injury to the vein to scare it down. if you ever burnt yourself with a curling iron their you go it starts minutes after injection it does burn not so intense were you cant handle it…. it will go away this is a process and does look uglier before it gets better…remember your shutting the vein down so it will look bruised for awhile..if you do it right it is pricey but yes it works ….
