Just saw a piece on local news about the FDA’s recent approval of Asclera for the treatment of small spider veins, and was wondering if the results last longer than traditional saline sclerotherapy.

Over the years, I’ve had multiple sessions (as directed) of the traditional saline sclerosing injections. Although the veins may disappear after the appropriate healing time, within 6 months to 1 year, they are back in abundance in the same areas of my legs (back of knees, etc.).

Based on my experience, I’d have to say that the saline solution can temporarily eliminate the vein; however, it’s doing nothing to eradicate the underlying problem that causes the vein to re-appear, so the treatment is worthless.

Will treatment with Asclera give more permanent results, or should I not waste my money?

Not just varicose veins?

I have been treated over the course of several years for severe varicose and spider veins with sclerotherapy. At my last ultrasound, the varicose veins (all but one) had shown to be treated fairly successfully with the exception of a few ulcers caused by the meds. The spider veins are recurring and are matting. Due to deviousness on the doctor’s part and my loss of trust as a result, I am unwilling to go back to this particular clinic or any clinic associated with it. My question is: Is there a more effective treatment than sclerotherapy? Is there possibly an underlying medical cause as to why, despite treatment, my legs have continued to progress(like, potential heart problems, which run in my family)? I also have big veins all over my body but am lean and physically fit– is this normal. My legs ache often after not having injections for a few months. I am taking specific supplements to help deal with it and slow down progression. Any advice or info would be very helpful.

my mom said to put my legs up when i get home to rest, will this help at all? will it make the veins less visible?

i can’t afford any treatments and stuff- i’m still 15 rmember? and ye, would you people think it’s odd to see blue veins on someone’s leg at the beach?

i know there’s future complications of untreated varicose veins, but is it mandatory to get the injection and stuff?

They are all over my thighs, and I also have some on my lower legs. They are increasingly painful. My doctor told me there’s nothing she can do because they’re considered cosmetic, but I went to the cosmetic clinic and they said there’s nothing they can do because they’re not severe enough to warrant the risks associated with treatment. They hurt a lot! I’m not sedentary; get a lot of brisk exercise every day. Witch hazel creams work temporarily but I’m looking for something long-term. I’m 36 and most of these have appeared in the last five years.

Ew, spider veins?

I’m 13 and I have spiderveins on my shoulder and on both my legs, and its not just my thighs, they’re showing up on my calves now too. They’re not huge, kinda small, but really noticable. Its really really bugging me now because its hot and I want to wear shorts and tank tops, but I feel uncomfortable when I do. I’ve talked to my mom about it, but she just says that everyone has them, and that they’re hardly noticable and blah blah blah.. She doesn’t know how hot I get outside (We live in AZ) She doesn’t think I need treatment for it or anything.

The point is, my mom doesn’t want to take me in for it to get injections or to have the lasered off, soo, are they’re any other options? Besides wearing stuff that covers them…

They’re pretty dark though and they almost seem like they migh start bulging.

Thanks for reading..
Oh and I’m not fat =D

Just really tall, I’m 5’8 and 13 soo..

I’ve had spider veins on my legs since I was probably 15 and the veins on my legs have been getting worse since then. It looks like I’m getting varicose veins. My legs hurt from bad circulation fairly often. It is just painful somedays, like today — I just took an aspirin hoping that will help.
I used to work out 3 days a week at least and try to eat healthy so they don’t hurt. The strengthening exercises helped drastically, but I haven’t been able to find time to lift and do cardio as much since I went away to school with the way my schedule goes.
I’ve also started on birth control pills last fall because my cramps are absolutely horrible. I feel great with the Yaz right now, but I know that the higher estrogen levels can worsen it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone had this similar of a problem at such a young age? Does insurance cover any treatment of them??

get rid of spider veins without surgery? I’m very self-concious about my body at the moment due to the fact that I have experienced spider veins on my legs for the past year. I really don’t know what to do anymore. I have already had scelerotherapy and it was fine only for the first couple of months. Alot of bruising; therefore, I don’t even know if it made a difference after my treatment because it took me two months to heal completely. I am so over this headache. I’m normally a very chippy, happy-go-lucky person and now this one problem with my body is making me feel so depressed. I don’t have medical insurane and I can no longer afford this. ANY ADVICE WILL BE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
