I wondered if there was anyone out there like me that has suffered from unsightly spider/thread veins. I developed varicose veins after pregnancy and had them stripped a couple of years ago, but was left with horrible thread veins. my circulation is obviously rather poor in my legs and i am still noticing new thread veins appearing in now both of my legs. The leg I had surgery on is obviously the worst and the majority of them are around my ankle and on the top of my foot (the boney part).Has anyone had sclerotherapy or a similar treatment for this problem and if so how successful was it in relation to to the severity of the veins. Mine are awful Im still young and cannot wear skirts or even strappy sandals because I have to hide my leg and foot. Any relevant info much appreciated.

I know there are surgical procedures and laser treatments that can be done, however I don’t have that kind of money. What’s the cheapest and best way I can get rid of these unsightly veins?

amacorp.com Get rid of unsightly leg veins quick and easy with lasers. With treatment leg veins often completely disappear after 2-4 sessions, but usually leave a residual “reddish shadow” that typically requires 8-12 weeks to completely resolve (disappear). In addition, a temporary “cat scratch” swelling may appear and persist for 2-3 days. In some cases, the “cat scratch” may become crusted and flake off. Much like the healing of any deeper scratch or cut, in the case of larger blue leg veins, some bruising may occur and occasionally, after a few days, scabs may appear at the surface. These scabs will simply crust off revealing beautiful new vein-free skin underneath. In the case of smaller spider veins and broken capillaries, the healing will be much less visible. All these conditions are normal inflammatory responses necessary for dissolving vein fragments and healing the tissue that surrounded the unwanted vein. Depending on the size and depth of the treated veins, as well as how responsive the patient’s skin is, the degree a patient experiences these conditions will vary from person to person. In all cases, experiencing these conditions is an indication of a successful spider vein treatment. Can't tell if I have spider veins or not!?

I think I have several spider like veins on my legs. I’m 28, not overweight, a regular exerciser but have been on birth control for 5 years. I cannot completely tell if I have spider veins b/c my skin is so light that it may just be that my veins are just merely more visible than if I had darker skin. I called up a Vein Treatment Center and they said that the consultation is 0, regardless of the treatment I need. I don’t want to waste 0 and have them tell me that there is nothing they can do. What can I do? I was thinking of going to my dermatologist and asking him for a diagnosis first. Any suggestions?

Tattoo and skin damage/ spider vein questions?

I am female. I’m almost 37, and I have spider veins coming in quite well. Looking at my parents, I will have many more inches of skin on my legs that will get hideous spider veins.

I know I can get treatment to remove the spider veins, but I know that I will just get them more and more until I finally become one huge spider vein pulsing in my wheelchair in the nursing home, frightening the nurses.

I am also very white, and have numerous scars on my legs from dry skin.

Every winter, no matter how much lotion I put on my legs, they become irritated, dry, itchy,, and I have red and white scars from the dry skin.

I was considering getting tattoos from my feet to my knees to cover the spider veins and scars.

So:

How well does tattoos hold up to minor skin damage? Can you see spider veins through tattoos?
LOL- yes, it’s radical, but not 100% out of the park. I knew I wanted to get a tattoo- but not until I found one that i was willing to live with for the rest of my life. because no symbol reached out and grabbed me, I am still completely tattoo free. I have known I wanted botanical (flowers, vines, leaves) what WHAT at its core.. its ok- this would only be ‘ground foilage’ for my icky skin…. and I am still in the considering stage, weighing everything.
