I am 20 years old and I started getting them when I was 15 or 16. I eat well, exercise, and take care of myself in general but thanks to genetics I have spider veins and they are getting worse with age. I have them all over my thighs and even a little on my calves. They hurt most of the time, especially when I am sitting down. I can’t afford to get them removed because it is considered a cosmetic procedure. Is there anything I can to do to convince my doctor that they really are causing me pain and that I need to have them removed?

A sclerosing solution is injected into the vein through a micro needle which generally causes very little pain. The sclerosing solution causes the vein to blanch (turn white), then gradually disappear, this may be painful. A typical treatment may last for 15 minutes and consist of 70 – 100 injections. Injection sclerotherapy may eliminate the need for an invasive surgical procedure. This patient is treated for spider veins in San Francisco by Dr. Rajagopal.
