Sclerotherapy – The Vein Centre – Dr. Richard Murbach – Spider Vein Treatment

Used to treat smaller varicose veins and spider veins, sclerotherapy involves an injection of an FDA approved chemical into the vein that causes inflammation of the vein walls and causes the vein walls to stick to one another, collapsing the walls together. The veins close and fade from view, and eventually are absorbed by the body. The needle used is so thin, and the solution so mild, that discomfort is minimal. Small veins are effectively removed by sclerotherapy. To learn more, visit www.wearshortsagain.com

Not just varicose veins?

I have been treated over the course of several years for severe varicose and spider veins with sclerotherapy. At my last ultrasound, the varicose veins (all but one) had shown to be treated fairly successfully with the exception of a few ulcers caused by the meds. The spider veins are recurring and are matting. Due to deviousness on the doctor’s part and my loss of trust as a result, I am unwilling to go back to this particular clinic or any clinic associated with it. My question is: Is there a more effective treatment than sclerotherapy? Is there possibly an underlying medical cause as to why, despite treatment, my legs have continued to progress(like, potential heart problems, which run in my family)? I also have big veins all over my body but am lean and physically fit– is this normal. My legs ache often after not having injections for a few months. I am taking specific supplements to help deal with it and slow down progression. Any advice or info would be very helpful.
